Last year I lost my beautiful mum after a very short and cruel battle with cancer.

My mum was an incredible person - she was strong, she was brave, but above all she was fiercely independent. She wanted more than anything to spend her last days at home, and I promised her that's what we would do.

I am so proud and thankful that I was able to do this for her, and on the 17th of October 2019 she slipped away peacefully, surrounded with people who loved her at my home.

There is absolutely no doubt that without the support of an incredible group of people, this would never have been possible. I naively thought I was mentally prepared, and that I'd be strong and able to care for mum myself - but I had no idea how tough things were going to get.

I was sent a miracle, in the form of Hospice at Home, and there are no words to describe how amazing they are. These nurses stepped in when i needed it most, and immediately just understood.

They supported me in caring for mum, they were understanding, unobtrusive and respectful, they just felt like part of the family immediately.

These girls went above and beyond for us, and gave much more than just personal and medical care to mum. They were my emotional support, and me gave confidence in my self that I could follow through my promise. They brought memory boxes, blankets and teddy bears for my children, sat with mum to give us a little break, and reminded us to eat and sleep. They even laid on the bedroom floor beside me and hugged me as I cried when it all got too much.

I had never heard of this service before, why would I? But I believe they need much more recognition than they get and I will always be eternally thankful for their part in mums dignified passing.

For this reason I've decided that my chosen charity will be Hospice at Home, at the Cynthia Spencer hospice in Northampton.

I have carefully chosen this beautiful scent in memory of my mum, in order to fundraise for these wonderful people.

For every Everglow product sold I'll be donating the proceeds to this fab service, every year, on October 17th. More special items will be added to the Everglow collection over time.

I hope that you will all support me
