Directions For Usage

Wax melts are a popular and economical alternative to scented candles for fragrancing the home.

Although they are easy to use, there are a few tips which can help you get the very best performance from your melts.

Firstly, the position on your burner is important.  Ensure that you place it on a flat, heat resistant surface, away from any draughts or open windows.

If you have children and/or pets, make sure that it is out of their reach.

The intensity of the fragrance will depend on the room size, temperature, and placement of the burner.  If it is in the corner of the room, the fragrance may not fill the room as well as it would should it be placed in an area where people walk past regularly.

~x~

Make sure you have read the safety instructions for your burner, and the allergen information of your wax.
~x~
Place your wax in the dish/bowl of the warmer, taking care not to overfill it, and either switch on your warmer, or place a lit tealight into the base if you aren't using an electric one.
~x~
Allow the heat of the bulb or tealight to melt the wax, and wait for the scent to release into the room.
When you have finished, the tealight can be extinguished or the lamp switched off.  The wax will harden in the dish once cool.
~x~
The burner can be re-lit or switched on again as many times as you wish, until you can no longer smell the fragrance when the wax is melted.
~x~

When the wax is spent, or you wish to change scent, switch off your burner and allow the wax to cool/harden completely.
~x~

The easiest way to remove spent wax is to light a tealight in the burner for 30seconds (or switch on your lamp on for a minute or two), and allow the hardened wax to start to melt.
Then using your finger, gently apply pressure to one side of the hardened wax and it should pop out in one piece.
~x~
Never use metal or sharp objects to clean out wax as this may crack or damage the burner or cause injury.
~x~
You could also use cotton balls/pads to soak up melted/liquified wax and then dispose accordingly if you prefer.
~x~
Do not use wipes and/or cleaning chemicals/products to clean the burner.

How Much Wax Should I Use?

Sometimes, less is more!  To get the best from your wax, we recommend using just enough wax to cover the surface area of your burner dish when melted.

You do not need a deep pool of wax to create a good throw, in fact this can often have the opposite effect.

Your liquified wax needs to reach a certain temperature in order to melt properly and release its scent, this is difficult to do if too much is added.

If you are using snap bars, a fifth of the bar is normally perfectly adequate.  Just break off a couple of cubes at a time.  This should be sufficient for 3/4 burns, or approximately 12 hours of fragrance.

If you are using a wax shot, turn the tub upside down and release the wax shot.  Place it on a chopping board and with a sharp knife cut it into 4-6 segments.

Each of these segments should be sufficient to last at least 3-4 burns (12 hours)

If you are using heart meters, 4-6 hearts should be sufficient.
